On Friday we decided to go and take a tour of the new Dallas Cowboys Stadium.
We passed a cool water tower on the way. Thought you might enjoy seeing it too.
As we pulled up to the stadium I have to say it did look amazing.
We found out that we had to park near the pro shop and I happened to notice this wonderful sign. One of my “random things” that I like to take pictures of is the #5.
So now you know my day is starting off on a cheery note. But if you look at the sign it almost looks like it says 53 instead of just 5. Oh well.
We went into the pro shop and purchased our tickets for the tour. The ticket prices are slightly discounted because the stadium is not complete.
The stadium had some cool lighting. Some of the lights were in the shape of footballs.
Pretty cool, huh? There was also a light that had drop down lights that were the “laces” of the football.
We also enjoyed some of the suites that we’ll never enjoy at any other time. ;) They aren’t really in our budget….haha! They are nice but in our opinion we don’t think that you get what you pay for. But hey – that’s just our opinion.
The tour takes a total of about an hour and it does include a lot of walking. Part of the tour takes you by the end zones near the large gates that open up. It’s pretty cool.
They take you down to the field level. There is one part where they show you where the players will exit the field during halftime. It has a big star over it that lights up. It’s pretty cool.
This is the view that the players have as they come off of the field.Have you wondered how much the food is going to cost at the new stadium? Well wonder no more…..
We were on field level and were able to see them as they were preparing the field for the upcoming soccer matches. Here is a close-up of the field. They actually have several different fields that they use. They have a soccer field, a field for college/high school games and a field for NFL games.
Here are a couple of pics of us at field level.
We did manage to stop by the pro shop but didn’t make any purchases. I intended to buy some little souvenirs but yeah, the price was not little. Hmmm….couldn’t even buy a cheap pencil or anything. That was disappointing but I managed to get over it without any counseling or anything. I did manage to get a couple of pics and I’m surprised I wasn’t charged for that. ;)
And to sum it all up we really had a great time. A better time than I honestly expected to have. And the stadium is freaking awesome. It’s amazing and we all kept saying “WOW” as we saw everything.
I just realized that on foam fingers, it's showing the back of the hand. Who raises their finger to signal number one but turn it around? Are you telling the people behind you that your team is number one? I realize it would be hard to read team names and logos if the fingers were drawn underneath but it does seem odd.
ReplyDeleteI started wondering if there should be an apostrophe in Cowboys on the signage but the more I thought about it it shouldn't. Carry on.
ReplyDeleteI don't think I've ever thought about the foam fingers before and it is a bit odd. And you're right, no apostrophe needed. :)
