We're a hot sauce loving family. We're not talking the kind that tastes like ketchup, we mean true hot sauce. Nick has tried to learn the tricks of the trade from my Dad and is trying to perfect the recipe. While we were in South Dakota we had the Hot Sauce Taste Test Challenge and compared Nick's version to my Dad's version.
We each had a turn in tasting both and came to the unanimous conclusion that both hot sauces had their merits.
We also had tamales flown in from Texas for the event.
And you'll notice we had Santitas chips to go with our food. Just like Gramma always has at her house.
Nick's sauce had a bit more cilantro in it and therefore tasted a tad bit sweeter. All in all we can't wait for next year's challenge and at that time we'll declare a winner! :)
